Author's Summary:
"Set first season -- Trip and T'Pol try to find some common ground."
Review:
A chance encounter late at night makes Trip and T'Pol realized that they are not as different as they expected.
Though Vulcan is one of the most well known (if not the most well known) species in the "Star Trek" universe, in both canon and fanom Vulcans tend to be portrayed as a somewhat monolithic, highly-cultured people. Artaxastra breaks this image and give us a glimpse of a rich, varied Vulcan whose regional cultural differences affect the way its inhabitants act and are perceived. Through Trip and T'Pol's conversation - which seamlessly moves from regional cuisines to the different interpretations of Surakian teachings - we get to better understand not only the characters, but also their cultures and backgrounds. Though some of the information shared by T'Pol has been disproved in later seasons of Enterprise, this still remains a highly interesting and very well written fic.
