This is a really fantastic rape recovery fic. That being said, there are a ton of triggers in this fic. It’s written tastefully, but my social anxiety disorder flairs like nobody’s business every time I read this. It’s one of those fics that’s not happy, but still is able to provide cartharsis.

More than anything, I feel terrible for the rest of the band in this. Gerard especially has this disconnect from Mikey that you don’t see in fandom, but it’s so terribly realistic. Mikey really alters in this fic between the beginning and the end. Spencer Smith totally won me over. I really didn’t want to like him in this, with him being the usurper of Mikey’s affections, but I ended up loving him.
