Review:
I'm generally not fond of amnesia fic, to be honest. I usually end up skipping to the end, where the person gets their memories back, and they have to deal with the fallout of what happened while they couldn't remember. But this fic, oh, this fic. When Sanji wakes up, he doesn't remember Zoro, doesn't remember falling in love with a man. It's so interesting to read as Sanji is discharged and tries to settle into a life he doesn't remember. I love his and Zoro's relationship, and Zoro's patience with him, even though it hurts that Sanji can't remember. I love how Sanji falls in love with Zoro all over again. I also enjoy how the entire fic isn't about Zoro and Sanji. Usopp and Kaya are having issues, and Chopper is going through a difficult time as well. I don't want to spoil anything :) They include so many characters from the manga, too, nearly everyone gets a role.

You can tell this was essentially copied and pasted from livejournal, since the author occasionally included the last couple paragraphs from the previous chapter in the next chapter, as a reminder of how things were left. Still, it's easily skipped over. The writing is simple but engaging, the plot is interesting, and the characters are so fun.

High school AU. It's Dean's senior year at Lawrence High, and he's already given up on himself. It takes the arrival of the strange, intense, awkward Castiel Delacroix at the school to prove to Dean that maybe his life is worth saving after all.

Review:
In this non-supernatural high school AU, a Dean that has been raped by Alaister struggles to carry on with a life that he's now unsatisfied with and not even sure he wants anymore. Cas is the son of a famous televangelist, finally able to go to a public school after a life of being stifled by his family of religious zealots. Dean shows Castiel what he's been missing out on during his uneventful life, and Castiel helps Dean regain his good marks and his self esteem. It's not the most original plot, but this was a fic well written enough to move me to tears.

It's a realistically slow journey. Dean's struggles definitely tug at the heart strings, whilst the non-explicit nature of the rape stops the angst from becoming at all sensational. This is rape recovery handled delicately; paced well and ending on a lovely high and fluffy note.
