Review:
This fic comes from the earlier days of Supernatural fandom, when Jared had a fluffy fringe and many fans had an almost sadistic penchant for limp!Sam. This is one of those fics written during this time - before Sam went darkside, and instead was more of the fandom woobie. Fear not though - this fic only has touches of woobie and limp Sam rather than it being gratuitous, and is actually one of my favourite Supernatural fics. Written before season 3, in this fic there aren't any angels or deals with demons or apocalypses - there's just the normal world and the monsters that go bump in the night, and Sam is the only one in his family that knows about the latter. It's a fun fic with angst that is delicious rather than overwrought, with an easy to read writing style that makes this one of my go-to comfort fics.

The best part of this fic has to be the relationship between Sam and Dean. They've grown up with a normal family and a living mother, and as a result aren't nearly as codependent as they are in canon. Instead they're just normal siblings, annoying and tolerating each other by turns. It's satisfying to see their relationship change over the course of the fic as Sam struggles to hide his double life and Dean starts to wonder what the hell is going on with his brother. If you love identity porn, dramatic secrets and the brotherly relationship between Dean and Sam, you will love this fic.
