Author's Summary: Katara has a secret. (Katara & Jet) Slight Katara & Zuko and Katara & Aang
Review:
What I loved most about this fic was the style of writing. There is this deep poeticness in Winter Ashby's storytelling without losing the story. I can empathize with Katara because I see her as more than just a cartoon character, I can imagine her as a person. What I believe is the hardest part about writing fanfiction about cartoon characters is that it's hard to make a character be someone realistic, someone you can empathize with, someone you can relate to. Here, Katara is so believable. I mean, who hasn't regretted about love? Who hasn't loved and lost and regretted the decision? This fic is simply perfect because you can just feel the emotions embedded in it. There's a conflict present even in just this short story, and Katara makes a decision to solve that conflict.

Summary: Herger meets a quiet Arab on a flight and decides to help the other man.
Review:
Mlyn is the champion of and for the 13th Warrior fandom. There is no-one more invested in this fandom than her and she is continiously working on keeping it alive. All in all the fandom is very small and I think so far I've come across no more than fifty stories. But just because there is so little to find, does not mean that there isn't anything good. Just the opposite actually. And most of the great stories out there were written by Mlyn.
Unlike Gods and Monsters this story is a modern day AU that starts out with the two protagonists sitting on a plane next to each other. One a rather successful business man from Norway, the other a political refugee from an Arabian country. One helps the other and soon there is a slow but steady relationship starting to grow between them.
Evening is by far one of my Alltime Favs, no matter what fandom and I love the detail and the large amount of research that went into the creation of the story.
