The author weaves together several different storylines that are all a part of the larger story at hand and keeps them all moving forward at a good, taut pace. The story never seems like 90,000 some words because the story is always moving forward and doesn't lag. While there are a few minor errors here and there, the overall story itself is enjoyable enough that I found them to be easily overlooked.

I enjoy the machinations of everyone involved, but most especially Miss Parker. She is portrayed as a strong, smart, resourceful woman. Most characters from the series get a chance in the spotlight and contribute meaningfully to the story itself, including perennial sweepers Sam and Willy.

The ending is somewhat bittersweet if you take into account Miss Parker’s initial desire to be free of the Centre, but it’s also hopeful for those involved. Overall an enjoyable read that gives a glimpse into a possible Centre future.
