Oh dear, RL is keeping me busy. So I'm five minutes late but I made it as soon as possible. Have a tad belated rec.

Title: Stephen/Ryan Series
Fandom: Primeval
Pairing: Stephen/Ryan, Lester/Lyle
Categories: Action, Adventure
Length: super-epic (words)
Warnings: dinosaurs, violence

Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] fredbassett
Author Website: AO3 Account

Summary: Chasing after anomalies, hunting and being hunted by dinosaurs and other creatures is just what it takes to create a romantic atmosphere for some.

Review:
Funnily enough it was this series that got me hooked on the Primeval fandom. I absolutely loved the plot lines, the character development and the way it seems like you are reading a part of the Primeval canon.

Even though the main pairing is -as can be deduced from the name- Stephen/Ryan, I absolutely fell in love with the Lester/Lyle pairing.

So if you like dinosaurs, time travel and gorgeous men you are in the right place.

Summary:
Regime change at the Centre is never a smooth or comfortable process.

Review:
Set several years post series, Jarod’s friend and colleague is kidnapped by the Centre and forced to be part of the Hydra’s Teeth project overseen by Lyle and Mr. Raines. Hydra's Teeth involves taking homeless people and brainwashing them into being the perfect assassins.

What I like best about this story is the action and the plot. The author weaves together several different storylines that are all a part of the larger story at hand and keeps them all moving forward at a good, taut pace. The story never seems like 90,000 some words because the story is always moving forward and doesn't lag. While there are a few minor errors here and there, the overall story itself is enjoyable enough that I found them to be easily overlooked.

I enjoy the machinations of everyone involved, but most especially Miss Parker. She is portrayed as a strong, smart, resourceful woman. Most characters from the series get a chance in the spotlight and contribute meaningfully to the story itself, including perennial sweepers Sam and Willy.

The ending is somewhat bittersweet if you take into account Miss Parker’s initial desire to be free of the Centre, but it’s also hopeful for those involved. Overall an enjoyable read that gives a glimpse into a possible Centre future.
