Summary: Steve takes things like personal responsibility and respect seriously. Tony's got people he pays to take care of that kind of thing, and anyway, he's pretty sure that he's going to die of some exotic disease in his workshop, because Dummy's still a little spotty about what is 'clean' enough to put on an open wound. The rest of the Avengers are in this for personal gain, except for Clint, he just enjoys being a dick.
And some things shouldn't be a chore.
Review: This is my new head-canon for the Avengers series. The team is hillarious and marvelously in character; Tony's crazy isn't downplayed but it also isn't turned into an angst fest. From Calsifer the toaster to the Roomba Legion of Doom, the friends Tony builds are all awesome and used to good effect. They all serve to advance the plot, rather than just acting as pets.
Also there is Clint wearing a jeweled crown, Exploration of Bartonia, Tony and Steve being failboats at each other, a shield plan for when Tony goes Super-villain, and Coulson being forced to put up with the adoption of a Roomba Baby.
In Which Tony Stark Builds Himself Some Friends (But His Family Was Assigned by Nick Fury)

Review:
There’s no “I” in Avengers.
I can’t deny that lately I’ve been binging myself on Avengers fics for no other reason than to make the wait for the movie a little easier. It didn’t really help – in fact, it made waiting that much more agonizing – but I can’t say I minded, especially when I’m (re)reading fics/series like this one. Beginning from the premise that Tony and Steve don’t exactly get along right from the start and that they both don’t exactly deal with this well, the ‘Ready, Fire, Aim ‘Verse’ is filled to the brim with great character moments, Avenger hijinks, and the well-paced progression of Steve and Tony’s relationship from something prickly and touch-shy to still prickly but brilliant.
Overall, I have to say that if you haven’t read this series already, do so now, and if already have, do so again.
