Summary:
Harvey sometimes moonlights as a Star Trek BNF. Mike might have an attitude problem on the internet. TiberiusGhost is strangely compelling, for a recluse who never goes to meetups, and Harvey's finding this kid Photohead vaguely familiar...

Review:
At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy this fic because a lot of meta fics give me a second hand embarrassment squick, so I kept my cursor firmly poised over the browser back button. However, this fic was more like a love letter to fandom in all it’s ridiculousness, revelry, and love.

The characters fit seamlessly into fandom and Closer does a fabulous job with many of the various parts of fandom accounted for. From anonmemes to fanfic to fandomsecrets to wank to shipping each part rang true through content and comments. I’m especially impressed with the formatting of the story itself because I think it truly adds to the narrative.

Overall a truly great story that is well worth the read!

Title: Pieces of the Dead
Fandom: Transformers (mainly Bay movies)
Pairing: Gen
Categories: Friendship, hurt/confort
Length: (~11000 words)
Warnings: N/A

Author on LJ: N/A
Author Website: faviconDavid Hines

Summary:
Sam and Optimus take a road trip.

Review:
I only have vague memories of the Transformers anime. I know I used to watch it when I was a kid but I don't remember most of it. I remember getting the first movie as a DVD because it was cheap and because I love cars...
This fic takes the best part of the movie (it was written after the 2007 one) namely the meeting of humans and robots with all of their differences.
David Hines uses this fic to explore the multiple facets of the characters. I enjoy the way he shows how differently the humans, namely Sam, and the Autobots, mostly Optimus, think.
This story is both sad and hopeful and the characters are touching in their own ways. My only regret is that it's the only fic in this fandom from this author... I would have enjoy reading more.
