Author’s Summary: As the Voldemort War rages outside the castle, long standing prejudices begin to seep their way into Hogwarts. For a Muggle-born student, everyday life has become significantly more challenging as Lily Evans knows too well. And her new partnership with one James Potter isn't exactly making things easier, especially when she discovers he isn't quite the arrogant toe rag she once thought he was.

Review:
Struggling to find her place amidst the ravages of war, the prejudices of her schoolmates, and the ever exhausting advances of James Potter, Lily Evans must face the challenge of straddling two worlds and her ever changing emotions for a certain bespectacled Gryffindor.

This fic had me hooked from the very first paragraph. Which I feel like I say a lot in my reviews or, possibly, not enough, but either way it’s the absolute truth, especially for a story that starts out as strong as this one does. Beginning at the start of the school term, Lily is faced (yet again) with the brutal reality of what it is to be a Muggle-born witch in a world rife with prejudice.

There are a lot of things I love about this fic but if I had to choose one to focus on it would have to be that the characters feel tangible and real. They aren’t some vague caricatures of who they might have been, but are instead laid out like real people who you can relate to on a variety of levels. Lily, in particular, feels like someone I could have been friends with during my own school years and James, by extension, feels the same. Best of all or, rather, the icing on the cake really, is that you can see bits of Harry in both characters and that just seems to drive home how superb this story and its character really are.
