Summary:
The road trip was really boring until he found the superheroes.
Review:
A bored little boy on a family cross-country move sees the Winchester brothers sparring at a rest stop. Of course, he knows exactly what they are: superheroes in disguise.
Set early in season one, we get a glimpse of Sam and Dean reconnecting after their pre-series separation the Winchester way, with sparring and snark. Josh, the original character and the story's narrator, with his child's perceptiveness sees them for what they are. The author creates a believable character, and I love his view of the brothers, epitomized by the following quote:
"...he knew they were superheroes because he read a lot of comic books and some of them, especially the ones without special powers, had to do training. Even after they were good at it, they still practiced. Also, he couldn't think of anybody else who would be fighting each other like that at a rest stop unless they were mortal enemies."

Summary:
Cas borrows a cup of sugar and makes a new friend.
Review:
Dean and Castiel move into a quiet neighborhood next to an elderly woman, Gertrude Smith. At first, she thinks "That Winchester boy," with his "unnecessary vehicle" are nothing but trouble. Then Castiel knocks at her door asking to borrow sugar, with his bizarre manner and peculiar social graces. Despite her curmudgeonly inclinations, Gertrude is charmed and invites Castiel in for tea.
A delightful outsider POV fic, in which the original character narrator is vivid and real (and frankly reminds me of my own grandmother quite a bit, with a gruff exterior and a kind heart). Her reactions to both Castiel and Dean are priceless, and it's a fun and quick read.
