Title: Love, Toast and Post-It Notes
Fandom: Merlin
Pairing: Arthur/Merlin
Categories: Humor, AU, Romance
Length: Medium (~6700 words)
Warnings: sugary sweet in places, if that's not your thing.

Website: Works on AO3
Summary: It was love at first sight, and Merlin knew it — when it came to the flat, that was. Merlin wasn't anything like as clear about the man he was going to have to live with.
Review:
Merlin's love affair with the flat is completely hilarious, and I adored Arthur's douchey woobiness. If you're looking for plot or character development, this is sadly lacking, but if you just want something sweet and fluffy to read, or like modern college AU's then look no further. While this isn't exactly the most realistic college setting in the world, it kind of doesn't matter as it works in service of the story and the characterization just made me wanna snuggle Merlin and Arthur like the softie I am.

Title: The Epistolary Romance of Drs. Katie P. Brown and M. Rodney McKay, with a Dinner Date.

Review:
A glimpse into the relationship between Rodney McKay and Katie Brown, from a dinner day to a constant exchange of emails where the awkwardness of their interactions in person is (mostly) stripped away.
Most SGA fics that contain Rodney/Katie use this relationship to showcase how Rodney is much better suited for someone else. Perhaps they were indeed not mean to be, but their relationship did evolve to the point that Rodney considered proposing. "The Epistolary Romance..." succeeds in showing us how this could have come to pass.
The author calls this fic the "epic battle of Cute vs. Awkward" and it is indeed a description that fits it perfectly. From their at times awkward and stilted dinner date and sexual encounter to their spirited and much more comfortable email exchange, we can see Rodney and Katie's relationship develop and how it might have sustained itself for so long. There's not that much of a plot to the fic, but it more than makes up for it in the strong portrayal of its main characters: Rodney's personality comes through perfectly, while Katie develops into a full-fledged and rather interesting character.
