Author's Summary:
"Ronon's friendship with Chuck, the head Gate Tech of the Atlantis mission, leads him to discover the strange and alien ways of Canadians and helps him lay his past to rest."
Review:
In the course of their jobs Ronon and Chuck strike up a friendship. Between lessons of English and "blaster twirling," Chuck shows Ronon the things he loves about his country while Ronon carves a place for himself now that he no longer has to run.
There are so many things I love about this fic: the bits and pieces of Canadian culture, the literary references, the IOA visit, the delightful humor overall and the relationship between the characters. I also love the way said characters are portrayed. This is one of the best characterizations of Ronon I've read, showing just how smart, resourceful and good at his job he truly is beyond his combat skills. Chuck grows beyond his small role on screen into an interesting and believable character, while the rest of the SGA crew is wonderfully portrayed. All in all a funny and endearing fic.
