Review:
Jensen doesn’t understand why Master Morgan doesn’t make use of him. After all, Jensen is his body slave, to use as he wills. And Master Morgan is obviously interested. But, if Master Morgan does not wish to make use of him it is his right.
This is one of the truly great slavery AUs. I was so pleased that despite the author’s fairly direct warnings, this story was mostly about love and joy. The choice of using so many characters, in this case, makes the story a bit convoluted. Possibly it’s just because several of the characters aren’t brought into the story until it’s half over. And possibly it’s just because, as long as this story is, it could have been a hundred thousand words longer without becoming overlong. The writing is just that good. And there are so many characters that are as yet unexplored.
Jensen in this is truly beautiful, a product of the system since the age of seven. The way Jeff interacts with him is a mix of comedy and mistakes, both sweet and tragic. The supporting cast includes a mouthy Sam, a pissy Kane, and a Jared that I simply don’t like (sorry, sorry). Mary Louise is just…gah, and Cate Blanchett is so beautiful in the inner beauty sense, never mind her stunning personage. If you’re a fan of Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, Timothy Hutton, or Billy Crudup, you may want to be a bit cautious about reading this. These are some very twisted guys in this story.

Fandom: Firefly
Pairing: River/Jayne (with secondary Zoe/Wash, Kaylee/Simon, Inara/Mal)
Categories: angst, established relationship, family, kids, marriage of convenience, pregnancy, virgin, prostitute (if you squint)
Length: Long (~33,000 words)
Warnings: female pregnancy, several smaller chapters (ugh!), although this isn’t something I’d classify as a sad story, it always makes me a bit weepy

Everyone on Serenity is having truly epic amounts of sex. Everyone, that is, but River. She decides to go about trying to change that.
This is a story that starts as a simple one-off PWP, but really gains some meat as the series continues. Dyce is one of the few authors out there that not only make me want to read het, but make me truly appreciate it as well. Each character’s voice in this is simply flawless. The last chapter is a little difficult to get through for me (it reminds me of ‘Four More Years’), but everything else is a mixture of great interactions of characters and outstanding sex.
A Simple Transaction

Keeping It Simple:
