When Jared leaves for the summer to make a film with Peter O’Toole, he misses Jensen a whole lot more than he thought he would. And he misses Sandy a whole lot less. And maybe, if he’s perfectly honest with himself, he can admit he finds Jensen attractive. But when Jared and Jensen finally see each other again, there’s something off with Jensen. And Jared’s going to find out what it is if it kills him.

This is my favorite non-AU Jared/Jensen fic. There are grammatical errors and a few plot lines that are never quite fleshed out enough, but every time I read this I can’t even see the flaws for the pure beauty. The original story is full of enough twists and turns to keep anyone on the edge of their seat. I was lucky enough to find the original story late, so amazingly enough, the sequel was posted the day after I found the original.

As good as the original story is, the sequel is as much better and more. The original story is told from Jared’s POV, and the sequel covers the same period of time from Jensen’s POV. But at no point does it leave the reader bored or with the ‘I’ve read this before’ feeling. Instead it’s a revelation. Just beautiful.

There are so many outstanding qualities to this series. Obviously the plot is fantastic, and the writing and character voices are spot-on. But better yet are the supporting characters. All of the best support cast from the CW and beyond is here, and so utterly perfect. I cannot recommend a story more highly.
