Review:
Nine years after the end of the Dominion War, Kira's funeral brings Garak back to DS9. Amidst grief, secrets and political ploys, his friendship with Julian Bashir is rekindled and finally progresses to something more.

As a whole, DS9 was much darker and dealt with edgier issues than all other Trek series (which is why it’s by far my favorite among them). “A Dark Stone for a Heart” follows in this tradition. It is a story of friendship and love that survived through time and distance, but it’s also a story of grief, of love that endured but could not be, of secrets and manipulations and past tortures that still haunt those involved. With subtle details, beautifully portrayed emotions and great characterization, this is a wonderful (thought not exactly conventional) first time fic.
