Author's Summary: The boys get sent on an assignment. All on their own, since the Director decides that Li Ann would be too conspicuous on this one. Mac takes advantage of their isolation to make Victor an offer he can't refuse. Well, he could, but does he want to?

Review:
It seems like almost every single fandom out there has a story where, for whatever reason, the two main characters must pose as a couple – be them gay or straight – for an extended period of time. While the circumstances change for each story, the roots are the same. Going Deep is definitely OaT’s prime example of this and a wonderful one to boot.

AnneZo does an excellent job of harkening back to the short-lived but no less fun television show, with its odd cases and even odder bevy of original characters, even while sticking true to the main characters and the relationships between them. Vic and Mac aren’t suddenly best friends in the story, though there is the sense of shared misery/camaraderie that we saw in both movie and show, and struggle with the mounds of unresolved sexual tension between them from start to finish. Don’t let that be a deterrent to you, however, because AnneZo does a superb job of taking us to the edge of our (and their) patience before finally throwing us a bone (and then building the tension right back up again).

Another thing the author has in her corner is the overall plot, which isn’t just a device used to get these two together but is actually entertaining and engrossing. I wanted to learn why those couples had gone missing and, more than that, I wanted to know if Vic and Mac would be the next one. Really, all things told, if you’re anything like me and love ‘undercover’ stories, you should really check this one out. It’s a classic in the Oat fandom and well worth the read.
