Review:
After sixth year, the famous trio manage to capture Snape who, of course, promptly talks himself out of custody and even manages to convince Harry to join him in hiding so that he can be trained in what he needs to truly defeat Voldemort. Together with a third conspirator, Harry and Severus learn to share and trust and, just maybe, love.
I wasn't in a particularly good mood the first time I read this story, so I was hesitant on my second reading. As it turns out, this situation is exactly why I keep a possible recs folder -- on second reading I realized that this fic is far and away better than I had remembered. In fact, it might just be one of my favorite HP stories of all time. Severus and Harry are perfectly in character, the plot is unique and interesting, and the growing relationship between our two heroes is both believable and highly satisfying. I'm especially impressed by the fact that there is no magical bond to force a relationship; Harry has to learn to trust Severus the hard way, with nothing but circumstances and mutual effort on both men's parts to hurry things along. A lovely exploration of a burgeoning frienship that might just turn out to be more.
