RR -- Highlander

  • Sep. 10th, 2007 at 9:00 AM
(This is kind of sudden, but I'm sitting on a pile of Highlander recs and I'm still working through the SV and SGA Big Bang fics, so...)

It's Highlander Week here at Epic Recs!

Things to keep in mind:
-Recced stories can be any length, any fandom, and any pairing, as long as they fit the theme
-You don't need to write a review (unless you want to).  All that you need to include are title, author, and link to the story (all parts if there are more than one).

That said, have at it!

Today's Topic: Highlander
(Note: I'm desperately looking for a long Highlander/X-Files crossover I read a while ago, in which Duncan is presumed killed in a parking garage, but Methos is convinced that he's just been kidnapped.  Guess who's right:)

(Also, FWIW, I've read everything by MacGeorge, Rachel Sabotini, and Sleeps With Coyotes, so if you know of any HL fic from other authors, I'd be especially happy to see it.)

Previous Topics:
Genres:
-Marriage of Convenience
-Harleqin AUs
-Homeless!fic
-Humor
-Fluff

Fandoms:
-
Long Due South AUs
-Crime Procedurals (anyone posting Bones (Boothe/Bones) or Monk (Stottlemeyer/Disher) fic gets a rec in any fandom of their choice, even if I have to acquaint myself with the fandom first)
-Due South fic (F/V would be a bonus, as I haven't read any before)
-
The Sentinel

Pairings:
-Epic McShep

Review:
Post-series, MacLeod and Methos have a particularly nasty fight and Mac decides to head to his cabin to lick his wounds. Joe and, eventually, Methos follow and promptly get into trouble, so Mac has to come and save the day. Again. Only this time he has to do it after being half-eaten by wolves (no, I'm not kidding).

This might be my favorite of all MacGeorge's fics, because it has everything I love most about fanfic: Misunderstandings! Trust issues! Needless miscommunication between thick-headed men who obviously want each other and yet are completely incapable of talking about their feelings like rational human beings! Okay, so it's just this side of a guilty pleasure. Still, it's fun, and that's why we read fanfic, right?
