The squeal I let out when I found out this story was still available on the net was probably heard in Russia.  This is, by far, my favorite crossover of all time.  I'm not going to even try to list all of the various shows included, but a short list is: Buffy, X-Files, every iteration of Star Trek, old school Dr. Who (multiple doctors), any show ever featuring the acting talents of Bill Mumy, Babylon 5, Xena: Warrior Princess (Really!), Sliders, and...well, you get the point.  Even the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (yes, really) show up.  And it's awesome.  Really!  SQUEEEE!

Ah, better now.  For those who want something a little more than the incoherent babble above, Night of 100 Stars is one of the best written (Robert Black is actually a professional TV writer), funniest, and most engaging crossovers ever.  Fairly early in both the Buffy and the X-Files timelines, Mulder and Scully come to Sunnydale to investigate paranormal goings-on.  They've barely entered the town limits when strangers start popping up all over town, some of whom aren't even from Earth.  Some of whom aren't even human.  Some of whom like to dress up in brightly colored spandex and who are guaranteed to worsen every possible situation by attacking indiscriminately and speaking with overblown emphasis (I've never seen the Power Rangers and I never want to, but five years after first reading this fic and I'm *still* laughing over their contribution).

I could rave some more, about how the plot is incredibly intricate (and yet everything comes together perfectly in the end), about the awesome character interactions (wait till Willow meets Kirk and Spock.  Just wait.), about the fantastic wit (even the chapter headings will crack you up, and don't get me started on the space battle, where every ship from every sci-fi series written before 1998 finds itself suddenly in spitting range of each other), but this review is already getting ridiculously long.  Just read it.  I swear you'll love it.

Note for those who (like me) have not seen every sci-fi show written before 1998: It's okay.  There are footnotes at the end of every chapter to explain who everyone is, and even if you only know the crew from Buffy and the X-Files -- which was the extent of my knowledge the first time I read this story -- you'll be fine.
