Review:
Jeeves & Wooster BDSM. Boggles the mind, doesn't it? And yet, it *works*. More than works; in fact, when I think about it, it really is one of the most clever fanfic ideas ever.

For those who haven't read PG Wodehouse's amazing Jeeves books, Jeeves is the brilliant valet (aka "gentleman's personal gentleman" -- clearly Wodehouse was a closet slasher) of Bertie Wooster, dim-witted gentleman. The stories are hilarious, but underneath the light-hearted nonsense is a pointed barb at the master-servant relationship, and skyblue_reverie takes that one step further. After all, Jeeves is in complete control of Bertie's life. It makes sense that that dynamic would extend to their bedroom as well. And, let's face it, Bertie is probably the most submissive character ever written, and Jeeves is the cosumate Dom. On top of all of these wonderful class issues, Bertie is still technically master in the eyes of society, and so you get this delicious dichotomy of Jeeves's subserviant language and behavior seamlessly blending with his complete command of Bertie. Gah. Much more of this and I'm going to break out into full-blown literary analysis mode.

I'm only reccing the first three stories in the series, which set up the relationship (the first fic) and their D/s dynamic (second and third). If you enjoy these three, there are several more in the series (the LJ link above goes specifically to Skyblue's J&W fic). Most of them are PWP fluff pieces, but there is also one long fic gives Jeeves a backstory. It's darkfic and not relationship centered (thus the reason it's not rec'ed here), but it's very well written and if you're into that sort of thing, you should give it a try.

The Matter of Mr. Wooster's Headaches
Jeeves and the Serious Consequences
