Marriage of convenience fic! With, I might add, a pretty darn original premise: A green card marriage for Superman (because he is, technically, an illegal alien. Heh.) The groom? Lex Luthor, of course!
In this AU, Clark and Lex don't meet until they are adults, with Lex the mayor of Metropolis and Clark Kent an intrepid reporter at the Daily Planet. Lex calls Superman in for a meeting, reveals that he's figured out Superman's (oh-so-impressive, *snort*) secret identity, and notes that Superman never really did get a work permit for the salary he's getting as Clark Kent. Thus, marriage!
MOC fics tend to have a formula -- marriage, fall in love, jealousy, betrayal, happy ending -- and Lenore follows the formula to the letter. Still, the story is well written, Lex and Clark in character, and the romance is sweet. Now if only the story were about 300 K longer...
