Review:
I'll say it right up front: I'm not as happy with this fic as I was with Annie's other story "Not Homophobic" (recced here.) I think it's a two part problem: this story is set after season two of Sports Night (AKA the season of discord, depression, and tragedy) and it uses a format that I'm not thrilled with (Danny flashing back to important scenes from his life while in therapy sessions).

On the other hand, what I said earlier about long SN fic is still true: every SN epic I've encountered is worth reading. This story is quiet and a little dark, but it's also full of banter between Danny and Casey, lovely parallels between Charlie's (Casey's son) and Danny's childhoods, and, of course, romance. Plus, Danny does a lot of healing in this fic and it is nice to see him take that journey.

All in all, I still recommend this fic highly, especially if you're in the mood for something real and thoughtful.
