Review:
I've learned a few things while trying to come up with anime recs for this community:
-Anime fandoms don't believe in headers,
-or telling you their main pairing,
-or giving any warnings at all (like, say, I don't know...character death)
-Also, most anime fic (with the exception of Samurai Champloo and, possibly, Hikaru no Go) is written by kids too young to legally read what they're writing, and it shows.

All of which boils down to this: sorry it took so long to post my first anime rec, but I worked my butt off to come up with something good, so I order you to enjoy it.

Ahem. That said, Bloodstone actually is a very good fic and not just by anime fic standards. For one thing, the premise is plausible (considering the HnG universe, anyway -- if you can have ghosts, why not vampires?) For another, the writing is sharp and polished. Best of all, the characters are beautifully written: multi-dimensional, with conflicts and friendships and rivalries all jumbled together, just like in real life.

The story: Hikaru gets turned into a vampire. Who does he tell? Touya, of course, because if you want a solution to any problem, Touya should be your go-to man. And Touya comes up with a workable solution to that whole blood-sucking thing (and, man, I never realized just how *sexy* biting could be till I read this fic) and it seems like all is going to work out. Well, until Waya finds out. Heh.

Hikaru no Go is an addictive manga that I highly recommend even if you don't read manga (which is pretty impressive, considering it's based on a *board game*). You can check it out here. Give it one volume (about eight chapters). If you aren't completely sucked in, I'll eat my (metaphorical) hat.
