Review:
I enjoyed this story and its well-written, winding narrative. I liked the way the author broke off from canon and went a different, yet believable and enjoyable route to wrap things up and set up an alternate ending. Another plus was the characterization of Alex. I thought the author did a great job throughout the story building up to the end conversation with Alex and Michael about redemption and trust which was my favorite part of the entire narrative.

I actually first read this story without having watched Prison Break quite a while back after enjoying some of the author’s other fics. It got me curious enough that I moved PB up on my Netflix queue. Once I watched the series I came back to this fic to re-read it and still enjoyed it just as much. Yes, watching the series helped, but I found the author’s writing compelling enough to be interested in the characters without knowing everything about them. There was something just a little more mysterious and stark about them without knowing their backgrounds.
