Review:
This story is a nice, enjoyable read. There is a case involved but, for me, it largely serves as a backdrop for Spencer and Spencer’s interactions and isn't the focal point of the story. Every time I read this story I find myself wanting a spinoff featuring Spencer and Spencer and Gus running Psych together and consulting on cases at the SBPD because of the dynamic between the two Spencers and the way they interact with one another.

So many Hotch/Reid fics are understandably dark that I appreciate this story even more just for its lightheartedness. The pining between Hotch and Reid and the constant furtive looks are sweet and charmingly innocent, reminiscent of a first love.

The only quibble I have with this story is that while overall the CM characters are well represented I feel that the Psych characters are pushed more to the sidelines, especially since a majority of the story takes place at the SBPD. However the times Gus is on the scene, I can literally hear the lines he’s saying because they sound as if they’re taken directly from the show itself.
