After the events of the first movie, Norrington is put on forced administrative leave. He promptly goes off to hunt Jack Sparrow on his own time, only to find himself captured by a much more nasty pirate. Which eventually leads to the most unlikely rescue by a most unlikely rescuer...

I'll admit that for the longest time I simply could not understand all of the fandom love for Norrington. Then I saw James without his wig and, well. I'm not made of stone.

This was the very first Jack/James fic I ever read and it remains my favorite, full of kidnapping and dramatic escapes, villains and heroes, adventure and romance. The writing is very good, the plot is engaging, and the boys are both rather adorable while still being in character. Lots of fun, lots of action, and lots of smut make for a very satisfying read.
