Gods and Monsters by Mlyn (NC-17)
Since it's Small Fandom week again!
Title: Gods and Monsters
Fandom: 13th Warrior
Pairing: Herger/Ahmed
Categories: Historical, h/c, adventure
Length: super-epic
Warnings: non-con, violence
Author on LJ:
mlyn
Author Website: Website
Summary: After Buliwyf's burrial Ahmed leaves to return home, but on his way he runs into some difficulties and is saved by Herger. The Northmen joins him on his travel back to Bagdad.
Review:
The 13th Warrior is a fandom that is smaller than small. There are all in all no more than fifty stories I suspect, but then again there is Mlyn championing that particular fandom and she writes her stories so beautifully that it more than makes up for the small number of fiction that has been written.
Gods and Monsters tells the reverse tale of 13th Warrior. This time it is Herger going with Ahmed to a place that is foreign to him. Just like the Arab he's able to adapt to his new environment and it is interesting to watch how people react to him and how he's reacting to others.
I greatly enjoyed the travel location wise and emotion wise that the characters take and it made me so happy to come across a so well written and extensive story in a small fandom like The 13th Warrior.
Gods and Monsters
and the two sequels: The Tunisian
Roads and their Travelers
