Review:
Peter wishes he had something and finds that having it might be worse.
There's something about this set of stories that I find deeply satisfying and not just because it's one of the few RG fics I can still find on the 'net these days. Set four months after Egon is almost killed by a 'mundane' (for their line of work, anyway) but no less frightening accident, this story features the always classic premise of someone wishing for something and then realizing it isn't actually what they want. That it's a somewhat love-lorn Peter doing the wishing makes it all the better.
While I won't deny that I wish the stories were longer, the characterization and overall storytelling make up for any complaints I have on that score and beyond. Even if you're not a huge fan of RG, I still highly recommend checking this out, especially if you're looking for a great story with a happy ending.
