Review: This fic takes place in an atmospheric post-apocalyptic world that has stuck with me for a long time.

The language is gorgeous and every scene is rendered in loving detail.

Title: Wrock Band
Fandom: Bandom
Pairing: Frank/Gerard
Categories: AU, Angst, First-time, Humor
Length: Medium (12,500)
Warnings: Canonical character death

Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] zarathuse
Website: Zarathuse's Ao3

Summary:  “it’s okay to love something maybe a little too much as long as it’s real to you.” – gerard way

Review: In a messed up time-line far, far away, Gerard and Mikey Way became Harry Potter Fan-boys and dragged the rest of the band along for the ride. Also known as the time Frank joins a very alternative version of My Chemical Romance.

Zarathuse does an awesome job bending time-lines and events to make a completely Alternate Universe origin story for My Chemical Romance.  One that includes a lot of the stumbling blocks from their real beginning re-imagined in a new and awesome way! I totally must read that will have you giggling all the way through (at least when you're not banging your head against a desk about Gerard and Frank's completely fail-boat romance)

Title: The Life and Lies of Gerard Way
Fandom: Bandom
Pairing: Frank/Gerard; Gerard/Lindsey; Frank/Jamia
Categories: Epistolary, Post-Canon, Romance
Length: Long (32,000)
Warnings: Character infidelity and death

Author on LJ:  [livejournal.com profile] maybegasoline
Website:  n/a

Summary:Have you ever wondered what dirty secrets Gerard Way may have kept inside all these years? Have you ever thought that perhaps there lay more than just love behind his marriage to Lindsey Ballato? Have you ever seen the glances Way used to shoot his guitarist, and wondered what it might mean? Find out the truth about everything, and get to know what really went on behind the scenes at all those My Chemical Romance shows! It begins in New Jersey, but where does it end? Read the upcoming biography ‘The Life and Lies of Gerard Way’ to find out, to be released in September, 2057. Get your copy soon at a bookstore near you!

Review: Written as a sudo-biography that takes place 45 years from now. Since it is written as a book, rather than in the moment, it allows for an unusual mix of POVs. There are Gerard's sections which address what happened to My Chemical Romance in the first person. Then there is the narrator's story which shows a view of My Chemical from the outside, with explanations of what happened in the "future" represented in the story.

It's an interesting contrast and maybegasoline does an amazing job pulling off the duel narratives.

Summary: "We all have to take jobs we don't like sometimes, you know?"

Review: I'm a sucker for anything involving domestic fic and fics that involve characters as kindergarten teachers and this fic puts those to loves together. Frank is awesome. Gerard's daughter is very much an individual despite being an OC and plot device. I was very pleased with the way her mother was handled.

Another thing that makes this fic so awesome is that Gerard and Frank's relationship avoids  both the Manny and client instantly fall in bed together cliche and the cliche where they fight their way through the whole first half of the story. Both tropes drive me up a wall. The writing is lovely, and the pacing is fast paced while stayin believable. This is a great fic to read if you've got a free hour and a soft spot for domestic fics as big as mine.

Summary: "Second street on the left, and straight on till Mornington Crescent. Tell them Pete sent you."

Review: This is an awesomely mind bending fic that mixes up old Folklore with present day chefs, amnesia, and magical prophesies. It's fast paced and fun, but more than that it doesn't gloss over the darker aspects of fairydom.

Some fairy related lore you might recognize from Shakespear, some from Greccian Mythology, some from old fairy tales, and some are just awesome allusions to Bandom.

Even if you don't know or have much interest in fokeloar you'll probably still enjoy this fic.
