Title: Spin of the Wheel Series (Any Road & Where The Four Winds Blow)
Fandom: Highlander
Pairing: Duncan/Methos
Categories: Post Canon, Future, First Time, Romance, Hurt/Comfort, Angst
Length: Long (38,462 words)
Warnings: Character Death (off-screen) *Joe Dawson*

Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] killabeez
Author Website: faviconKilla

Summary: Duncan is given a glimpse of an alternate future where he didn't kill Richie.

Review:
As with everything Killa writes, this story is a beautiful read. The characterization is spot on and the story is rich and fulfilling, leaving you with the sense that it could easily be canon.

For anyone that may have read 'Any Road' when it was written years ago, the sequel was just posted last month for the [livejournal.com profile] hl_chronicles challenge.

Summary:
The shared Double Quickening in "Revelations" has an unexpected side effect, one that changes the lives of Methos and Duncan MacLeod.

Review:
Wonderfully written with a lot of amazing little details. The characterizations are so spot on you don't realize the story's not canon. Absolutely hilarious in some spots and at other times the beauty and emotion will bring a tear to the eye.

Mpreg isn't usually my cup of tea, unless it is made believable. The way this one is written, it fits in with the mythology of Immortals without clashing with the idea that they can't have children. Extremely well done and well worth reading.

Methos gets dosed with a deadly truth serum, just in time to get rescued by Duncan. This story teaches us one thing: the only thing funnier than a drunken Methos? Is a drugged, horney Methos who just *has* to tell the truth.

What can I say? It's smutty, it's hilarious, and it features Duncan being long suffering while Methos satisfies his curiosity about Duncan's 'assets'. Via touch. Heh. I love Methos.

Review:
Through a series of highly suspicious coincidences, Mac and Methos find themselves drawn into the world of the Witchblade. Between the eeeeevil Irons, the latest headhunter after Mac, and the questionable intentions of the Witchblade itself, this is promising to be a long, dangerous adventure.

First thing you should know is that the Witchblade sections in the first couple of parts really do drag (but you have to read them to know what's going on, especially if you don't know Witchblade canon), as do the Highlander parts in the last couple of sections (though PWP lovers will undoubtedly be thrilled). If you can hold out long enough for Part 3, however, I can promise you the vast majority of the story is well worth it.

Where to begin? How about Methos? MacGeorge always does a good job with Highlander characterizations (there's a reason why she's the single-most recced Highlander author on Epic Recs), but the Methos in this fic is truly spectactular. Prickly, loyal, sarcastic, brilliant, cynical, funny, and quite possibly the most dangerous man on Earth -- Methos is all of these things and more and every facet of his personality comes through in this story.

And speaking of characterizations, let's talk Ian Nottingham for a moment. Like most female fans of the show, Ian was one of my favorite characters and MacGeorge *nails* him. He's insecure, lethal, totally loyal and yet trying to find a way to accomodate his loyalty to his creator/master/(twisted) lover Irons while still leaving room for his own innate integrity and goodness. Much of the story hinges on Ian's personal growth, and it is captivating.

Finally, you have the action, which sucked me right in once the story really got going, an intriguing plot with an intriguing payoff that cleverly drew from the canon of both shows, and the bits of humor and lightness that are perfectly placed to keep the story from getting too dark. (There's a scene near the end involving Mac, Methos, clothes, and a helicopter (you'll see) that is my all-time favorite scene from any Highlander fanfic ever.)

Action, adventure, romance, and some clever writing all combine to create a fabulous fic with a little something for everyone.
