and we are beautiful, we are doomed and its companion piece, as drunken men find flaws in science, are both the kind of stories that make this pairing shine. Slow to build and naturally paced, the progression of Bones and Jim’s relationship in both pieces feels pitch-perfect and delightfully unhurried, allowing them to be together – as friend and companions; intimate in all the ways that matter – before they are together. This, somehow, just makes it all seem inevitable in the best of ways imaginable.
