I think the Kirk/Spock block is more due to Shatner/Nimoy. I just cannot see them together.....at all! lol Now, the update Star Trek movie...they are much more slashable; however, then I run into the problem of Nyota. She's written so well for Spock. :)

I have fav pairings and once they're set in my mind, it's difficult for me to see anything else. {shrug} I'm sure there are a lot of readers like that.
