Summary:
It's around when Ray wants to hold Walt's hand like a goddamn teenage girl with stars in her eyes and wet panties that he starts to worry
Review:
This series is made up of fourteen different stories, all dealing with a slice of Ray’s life and his relationship with Walt from the very beginning leading to marriage, honeymoon, family and through to the birth of their grandchild. While I categorize this entire series as a love story, it’s a love story that is true to Ray in all his offensive and clueless bravado and glory. The entire series is from his point of view and the author does such a great job with the consistency and fabulousness of Ray’s voice. I’m in awe of authors who do a great Ray voice, and I’ve read several, but I don’t think I’ve read many that ring as true as this one. Throughout each story the reader, like Walt, can’t help but shake their head at Ray but still find him incredibly endearing at the same time.
Overall this is a light, fun read illustrating with unerring characterization and humor some of the major stages of love and life with a partner.
Instead of linking each of the fourteen individual stories below I included the link to the series page at AO3. It includes links to each individual part complete with summary for that part.
